Is Extra 5k-6k for Samsung Galaxy S2 over LG Optimus 2x really worth the money..??

1. Display: The first and most important thing you look at in a full touch screen phone first. The Samsung Galaxy S2 has a 4.3 inch Super Amoled Plus screen whereas the LG Optimus 2X has a 4.0 inch IPS LCD screen. Setting aside the technical jargon, the Samsung Galaxy S2 unarguably has the best screen quality out there challenged only by the iPhone screen. Besides, the higher real estate available on the S2 makes it a much better display to look at and work on.

2. Form Factor: The Samsung Galaxy S2 holds the title of the thinnest phone in the World today. It is 8.5mm thin. Also, it is 20g lighter than the LG Optimus 2X. All in all it is much lighter and thinner than the LG Optimus 2X making it more pocketable.

3. Memory: The S2 has double the RAM than the LG Optimus 2X (1GB = 1024MB in the Samsung Galaxy S2 vs 512MB in the LG Optimus 2X) resulting in better multi-tasking performance and browsing experience in the S2. Also, the inbuilt memory in the S2 is 16GB/32GB vs the 8GB in Optimus 2X. This is a big plus considering that both phones are capable of recording and playing high definition content requiring high memory.

4. ANDROID Version: The S2 is shipping with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) whereas the LG Optimus 2X ships with the Android 2.2 (Froyo). The Android 2.3 is better optimised for Gaming and is a more refined and more customisable user interface than android 2.2 overall.

5. Camera: Although both the S2 and the LG Optimus 2X sport a 8 megapixel camera and 1080p video capabilities but in both still photography and video recording capabilities the S2 scores higher.

6. Audio Quality: The S2 supports the sound-enhancing DNSe technology and 5.1 channel virtualization. The S2 is a perfect mp3 player compared to LG Optimus 2X whose audio quality is at best average.

7. Battery Life: The S2 has a 1650mAH battery whereas the LG Optimus 2X has a 1500mAH battery. On top of this the Super Amoled Screen is a very power efficient screen. Hence all this results in a much higher battery life for the S2 compared to the LG Optimus 2X.

8.  USB on the GO: A new and upcoming feature that maybe a very important feature for a lot of us. Basically the S2 supports connecting a pen drive directly to the phone for file transfers. This feature is not present in the LG Optimus 2X.

9. Video Playback: Both the phones have a rich video playback support but here also the S2 scores slightly higher by providing MKV format support. The LG Optimus 2X does not support the MKV format which is a very popular format for high definition content.

10. Miscellaneous/Deal Breakers: The S2 supports high definition output but it requires an adapter which is not included in the box whereas the LG Optimus 2X has HDMI port for high definition output and includes the HDMI cable in the box itself.

Hope this helps you decide whether it is worth spending the extra bucks on the Galaxy S2..
